DESCRIPTION:
European, for Camerden & Forster, NY, classic English Regency styled bracket clock, 3-train, Westminster chime on 4 enormous coiled flat wire gongs, in a mahogany case with reeded quarter columns, brass capitals and stop fluting, C.1900 {in the style of 80 years earlier}. Strikes the hours on an even larger coiled gong.
CONDITION:
There are some minor nicks and scrapes to the case, molding under top finial re-glued, + a dry slit in the front of the case, but overall it is in good original condition. Silvered brass dial is polished mostly to brass, but is in good condition, and the name Camerden & Forster and the Roman numerals are engraved into the dial. The oversize movement is of the best quality. Ht 24"
